YYZ Bargaining Committee Elections
I want to thank those who have put their name forward or been nominated by a coworker for the Unifor Bargaining Committee election.
There has been tremendous interest from the membership to be active in the union, and I am pleased to announce the list of candidates. All candidates have been invited to submit a message to go along with their name.
Your list of candidates are:
Maria-José Bouey CSA
For those who do not know me, my name is Maria-José Bouey and I am a full time CSA.
I decided to bring my name forward for the Bargaining Committee election in hopes of bringing our teams voice forward with it. Our voice is what will be securing our contract, a contract that not only resonates with us, but more importantly meets all our expectations.
With this said, I am thrilled to see the list of colleagues who have done the same, and am eager to see this committee be elected as I know each of the representatives elected will do a phenomenal job.
Thank you for considering me, and I wish all the candidates the best as I too am voting for you!
Keaton Cole GSL
Hey Team YYZ,
My name is Keaton Cole (for those who haven't met me yet), and I've been a WestJetter for nine years and counting. I started as a GSA (yea, a Guest Service Agent), working the kiosks and being the 1st touchpoint with our guests. BSA to CSA and now serving the operation as a GSL, I have a fair amount of experience with how this operation works. August 2018 is when I was a part of a small group of individuals spearheading this union drive attempting to make WestJetter's voices heard through Unifor representation. I've been dedicated and committed to bringing the union in at YYZ; I am excited to see the outcome and look forward to diligently working towards improvements. I want to bring forward your concerns and mine so we can be heard and respected. Simply put, your EMPOWERMENT, LIFE and WORK balance is important to me, which is why I endeavour to bargain on your behalf.
Vote me in!

Natalie Fung CSA
I nominated myself for the bargaining committee after refusing at first. I know what I want for our base … better stability in hours and our working conditions, in addition to better pay. I have been with WestJet long enough to know what it could be and will work tirelessly to see that it is so again. I have gained knowledge of federal labour laws since WestJet started asking more and more of us for less and less as a means for my own personal defence. I will use what I have learned to negotiate for all of us. If I need to learn more, I will. Many may remember my impassioned speeches in the break room encouraging you to sign a card and informing you of your rights. I don't back down easily. I am always here for you. Together we are strong.

Westjetters deserve more. MORE money, BETTER benefits, a SOLID schedule, and R-E-S-P-E-C-T. These are tangibles that WestJet CAN deliver. WestJet's workers have been taken for granted and our wages lowballed by WestJet/
Onex for too long. Frontline earning the median wage for our specific role in the travel industry has never been enough, and with today’s cost of living it is now actually a slap in the face.
Where is the reciprocity?
I am a Paralegal, I hold an Alternative Dispute Resolution certificate, and I am currently pursuing an expedited degree in Justice and Public Safety. This is my area of interest because it is work that is meaningful and will impact our lives.
I genuinely want to speak up for better cost-of-living increases, and I’m excited to be a candidate to serve my
WestJet brothers and sisters in the fight to obtain better.
A vote for me is a vote for YOUR voice!
Candidate for Bargaining Committee
Grace Morgan CSA
Hi my name is Grace Morgan and I've been a WestJetter for more than 6 years now. I am running for a bargaining committee in hopes to be your voice at the table. If elected, I will use my skills and abilities to fight tenaciously on your behalf for a solid contract. I will also prioritize getting vital information to the members in a timely manner and making sure your voices are heard during the negotiations process.
Alaina Ventresca CSA
I have put forth my name for your consideration to join the Bargaining Committee to represent our collective concerns in the negotiation of a contract between Unifor and WestJet.
Although my current role is that of a Customer Service Agent in a casual capacity, my sole interest in joining this committee is to simply ensure that all working groups affected are fairly represented.
Wesley Watson GSL B
My name is Wesley Watson, and I'm a Guest Service Lead Baggage with six years of work experience in the airline industry. I lead a team of individuals within my department who seek longevity and stability within the company. I enjoy helping my team members advance their careers and influencing strategic decisions.
As a past board member of both BlackCAP and The 519, I helped shape the framework for Caribbean and African immigrants moving to Canada and accessing services.
Outside of work, I enjoy recreational travel and hiking. I also spend my free time working as a volunteer for several different organizations
