We want to provide a brief status update regarding the current proceedings before the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

At this time, there are no new updates from the Canada Industrial Relations Board. Unifor remains committed to keeping you informed and will share further information as soon as any new communication is received from the Board.

The Union confirms that it has acknowledged receipt of the Employer’s correspondence dated January 26, 2026. In accordance with the amended Investigating Officer’s Letter of Understanding dated January 13, 2026, the Employer provided job descriptions for the disputed classifications on January 19, 2026. The Union exercised its right to respond within the five day period outlined by the Board.

All required submissions have been completed and we are now awaiting further direction from the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

We understand that waiting can be difficult. Please know that the process is moving through the Board’s established procedures and Unifor remains actively engaged at every stage.

We will continue to keep you updated as soon as we receive any new information.

In the meantime, we invite you to watch this short video from your WestJet coworkers sharing why they support Unifor.
