Great News: 800 WestJet Contact Centre Workers Will Vote

We have some great news to share. The Canada Industrial Relations Board has ordered a representation vote for WestJet Contact Centre employees, meaning they will now have the opportunity to vote YES for Unifor and union representation.
While this is not the automatic certification we had anticipated, we are confident that Contact Centre employees are ready to take this important next step and vote YES for Unifor.
We are also pleased that the Labour Board ruled in our favour on the disputed positions. The Board determined that Group Sales Specialists, Group Sales Senior Specialists, Specialist Quality, APPR Agents and APPR Specialists belong in the bargaining unit.
In the coming days, we will be meeting with the Labour Board's designate, Mr. Andrew Poon, who has been appointed Returning Officer to supervise the representation vote. We will provide you with information about the voting process and dates as soon as they are confirmed.
This is great news. After months of organizing, delays and challenges, WestJet Contact Centre employees will have their democratic opportunity to vote YES for Unifor.
A YES vote means moving forward together to the next important step: negotiating your first collective agreement and having a real voice at the bargaining table to restore fairness, improve your working conditions and ensure decisions affecting your workplace aren't made without you.
It's your workplace. It's your choice. Now it's your vote.
More information will be coming very soon.
