Hear From Fellow WestJet Workers: Why They Are Joining Unifor
WestJet YEG,
Thank you for the many thoughtful and constructive conversations we have been having with you this week at the airport. We appreciate the time you are taking to ask questions, share your experiences, and engage directly with Unifor about what joining together could mean for workers at YEG.
Every conversation helps build a clearer understanding of what workers want to see improve and how collective representation can strengthen fairness, respect, and stability in the workplace.
Across the WestJet network, momentum continues to grow. Thousands of WestJet workers at YYZ, YYC, and YVR are already part of Unifor and have been working together to secure stronger protections and improved working conditions.
In the near future, close to 800 Contact Centre workers and Crew Schedulers will also be joining this growing movement. They have made it clear that they want YEG to be part of this broader effort to raise standards across WestJet.
By continuing to engage, ask questions, and stay connected, you are helping shape what comes next.
This is about building a stronger collective voice and ensuring that workers at every base have a seat at the table when decisions affecting your work and livelihoods are made.
We encourage you to continue connecting with Unifor representatives while we are at the airport this week. If you have not yet had a chance to speak with us, please do so. Your questions and perspectives are important.
We also invite you to watch this short video from fellow WestJet workers who are supporting your decision at YEG to join with them at Unifor and build a stronger future together:
