To our friends at WestJet Crew Scheduling, Contact Centre, YEG and YWG

As many of you know, WestJet Flight Attendants represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) are currently exercising their legal right to strike as part of the collective bargaining process. We want to express our solidarity with the Flight Attendants as they stand together in pursuit of a fair collective agreement.

We also want to take a moment to recognize each of you working in Crew Scheduling, the Contact Centre, and at airports across the WestJet network, including our friends in Edmonton and Winnipeg.

We know this is an incredibly stressful time. During service disruptions, emotions can run high and customers may be frustrated. While we understand that many passengers are dealing with cancelled or delayed travel plans, none of that frustration should ever be directed at you.

Your professionalism, patience, and commitment to helping passengers does not go unnoticed. Whether you're answering phones, rebuilding schedules, supporting flight operations, or assisting travellers face-to-face, your work is essential during a very challenging period.

Please remember that no one should be expected to tolerate abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour at work. If a situation with a customer begins to escalate, involve your supervisor or manager immediately and follow your workplace safety procedures. Everyone deserves to work in an environment that is safe and respectful.

While you may be in different roles and represented in different ways, you are all part of the same WestJet team. Supporting one another through difficult times is what solidarity is all about.
