YYZ is seeking 3 Workplace Representatives for the RSL / RSA group exclusively.

YYC is seeking 4 Workplace Representatives for the RSL / RSC / RSA group exclusively.

We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the position of Workplace Representative, exclusively for the Ramp Services team.

This is your opportunity to be a part of the team that will represent and advocate for your interests within our union. Working with the Unit Chairperson (Erica Kelly YYZ or Sherwin Antonio YYC), the workplace representatives are the front line leaders of our local union who protect the rights of our union members.

The role of a Workplace Representative, commonly known as a union steward, is vital to ensuring that the voices of Ramp Services team members are heard and that our workplace remains fair, equitable, and supportive. An ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualities:

  • Knowledgeable: A strong understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and a willingness to learn and stay updated on union policies, procedures, federal legislation and workplace policies.

  • Leadership Skills: Someone who can inspire confidence, build consensus, and take initiative in addressing workplace concerns.

  • Advocate for Members: A dedicated representative who will tirelessly work to protect and advance the rights and interests of Ramp Services team members.

  • Strong Communicator: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with members, management, and union officials.

  • Approachable and Trustworthy: Someone who team members feel comfortable approaching with concerns, knowing their issues will be handled with discretion and integrity.

  • Organized and Proactive: Able to manage responsibilities efficiently, including attending investigative and outcome meetings with your peers, resolving disputes, and supporting grievance processes.

  • Committed: Passionate about fostering a positive workplace environment and willing to dedicate time and effort to union activities.

If you or someone you know embodies these qualities, we encourage you to submit a nomination. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.

Once the nomination period closes, all nominees will be contacted, and a voting process will follow to elect the new Workplace Representative. We look forward to your participation in selecting a representative who will serve as a strong voice for the Ramp Services team. Following the conclusion of the elections, formal training will be arranged for our new workplace representatives.
