We wanted to provide a brief update regarding the ongoing organizing efforts at WestJet.

Yesterday, Unifor filed an Unfair Labour Practice (ULP) complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board related to the treatment of Groups workers who were included in the Contact Centre certification application. While we continue to wait for decisions from the Board on both the Contact Centre and Crew Scheduling certification applications, we believe it is important to stand up for what is right and defend the rights of all workers we are seeking to represent.

The ULP complaint is separate from the certification applications. It raises concerns regarding actions that may have interfered with workers' rights during the organizing campaign and asks the Board to review those concerns.

We know many workers are frustrated by the length of time it is taking to receive decisions on both applications. We understand that frustration and share it.

The reality is that the Canada Industrial Relations Board must carefully review all of the evidence, submissions, and legal arguments presented by all parties before rendering a decision. While the process can feel slow, the Board's responsibility is to ensure that every aspect of an application is properly considered and that workers receive a fair and legally sound decision.

Although we continue to await decisions on the certification applications, that does not mean we stop advocating for workers when issues arise. When we believe workers' rights may have been impacted, we have an obligation to raise those concerns and seek appropriate remedies through the process available to us.

We remain actively engaged in both the Contact Centre and Crew Scheduling applications and will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

Thank you for your continued patience, support, and solidarity. Organizing takes determination, and the commitment shown by workers throughout these campaigns continues to demonstrate why having a collective voice matters.

In solidarity,
