Stepping Up for Change
Every big change begins when everyday people decide to step forward. At WestJet, that is exactly what is happening at their contact centre. Workers from the inside are stepping up to lead, to share information, and to help build the momentum for a stronger future together. Inside organizers are the backbone of this campaign. Their courage to talk to coworkers, answer questions, and keep the conversation alive is what gives us strength.
This campaign is not about one person or one meeting. It is about the collective effort of each of you. The more you share, the stronger you become. Together, you can turn individual concerns into collective action, and collective action into real protections at work.
Already, workers have been stepping forward to sign their cards, attend meetings, and have honest conversations about the future of their jobs. Each card signed brings us closer to a strong majority and the legal protections of a collective agreement. Inside organizers are helping move this forward by showing that change comes when people stand together, not when they wait on the sidelines.

At the Contact Centre, your own coworkers are stepping up to lead. Here’s why they’re standing with the campaign:

"I’ve been proud to work at WestJet for many years, but it’s clear now that without a union we don’t have the same voice as our coworkers who already organized. I’ve watched other WestJet groups secure stronger job security, better scheduling protections, and a real seat at the table. That’s all we want too: fairness, stability, and a say in the future of our jobs. I’m supporting the union because it’s time SSC workers stop being left behind."

I love my job at WestJet, helping people and delivering the Western Hospitality we’re known for. At times, it can be challenging when guests come to us already feeling frustrated after trying to resolve their issues through other channels, but I always do my best to turn their experience around.
I’ve seen what a difference Unifor has made for airport agents. They bargain improvements, they have just cause protections, and they don’t live under the same constant fear of discipline. I’m standing with this campaign because we deserve that same security and respect. This is about protecting the jobs we love and building fairness for all of us — not just a few groups.

"As a GSUP, I see every day how much pressure workers are under. The company keeps making changes, outsourcing, and piling on new programs without listening. Meanwhile, our unionized coworkers are protected by a contract and have a collective voice that we don’t. That’s why I’m signing and encouraging others to do the same—because every Contact Centre worker deserves the same protections, the same opportunities, and the same respect as the rest of the unionized groups at WestJet."

"I love my job at WestJet and I’m proud of the work we do every day for our guests. But the truth is, outsourcing is the biggest concern I hear from coworkers all the time. We’ve watched more and more work shift away from Canada, and it feels like we’re always waiting for the next announcement about cuts. That uncertainty wears people down. What we need is a strong collective agreement with enforceable language that protects the jobs we love and secures our future here. That’s why I’m supporting Unifor—it’s the only way to make sure our work is valued and safeguarded for the long term."
