Thank You for Your Continued Support – Important Membership Card Update

Dear WestJet Edmonton Team,

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment in signing your membership cards with Unifor. We appreciate your dedication to ensuring that every team member has a voice in shaping a fair and supportive workplace.

As a reminder, Canadian federal law mandates that each membership card must be signed, and a $5 fee must be paid within six months of an application being submitted to the Canada Labour Relations Board (CLRB). If you haven’t signed a card within the past six months, please renew your support by completing the card at https://westjet.unifor.org/adobe_sign_redirect.

Why Updating Your Membership Matters: A card signed more than six months ago is not considered valid under the Canada Labour Code (CLC) for counting towards our majority, so please ensure your card is up to date. To file an application for representation, we need more than half of all employees in the workplace to sign a card and pay the $5 fee, demonstrating the shared commitment to unionization.

Supporting Us with Workplace Mapping: Another crucial step in our organizing efforts is accurately mapping the workplace. To achieve this, Unifor requests your confidential assistance in determining the number of employees within each area. If you can help with this important task, please reach out to your Unifor organizer or simply reply to this email.

Important Steps to Complete Your Membership: Once you’ve signed up for Unifor emails, you’ll receive a message with a link from Adobe to sign your confidential union membership card and pay the $5 fee. After signing, it’s essential to confirm your email to complete the process fully.

A Note on Communication: Please avoid using your WestJet email for union communications. If you’ve accidentally provided a work email, let us know so we can update your contact information and ensure you receive updates to a personal email instead.

We are excited by the increase in interest among YEG employees and look forward to supporting each of you in gaining the protections, voice, and fairness that come with collective bargaining.

Thank you for standing together.
