Workers Are Stepping Up

What a week it has been. So many of you have stepped up, talked with your coworkers, asked questions, and taken action to build real momentum toward joining the union. You are already changing the direction of the Contact Centre by choosing to act together.

Turning Uncertainty Into Opportunity

By signing a union card, workers are turning uncertainty into opportunity. Instead of living with decisions being made for you, you are claiming the right to negotiate as equals with your employer. Collective bargaining is how workers secure job protections, fair wages, clear rules around workload and monitoring, safeguards when technology changes how work is done, and real limits on outsourcing. These are not promises. They are enforceable rights written into a collective agreement.

Why Being Close Matters

We are close to the point where workers can move this forward. Every additional card brings us closer to filing for certification and beginning the formal process toward bargaining a first agreement.

Workplace Stability Through the Freeze Provision

Once an application for certification is filed, federal labour law triggers a freeze on working conditions. This means the employer cannot unilaterally change wages, schedules, job duties, or other terms and conditions of employment while the process is underway. Reaching this point stabilizes the workplace and prevents further erosion while workers move toward negotiating a first agreement.

Your Action Makes the Difference

If you have already signed a Unifor membership card, thank you. You are helping create the conditions for stability, fairness, and respect at work. If you have not yet signed, we encourage you to take a moment and reflect on what may be holding you back. Your action today could be the difference that puts workers across the finish line.

Shaping the Future Together

This is about choosing action over uncertainty and shaping the future of your jobs together.

If you want to talk, reach out. Now is the time.
