We Filed! Congratulations Crew Schedulers!
We’re excited to share some big news: we’ve officially applied to the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to represent all Crew Schedulers, Lead Crew Schedulers, and Shift Lead Crew Schedulers at WestJet. Congratulations on taking this important step together!
In the coming days and weeks, the CIRB will begin its standard process. Here’s what you can expect:
-
The CIRB will verify the membership evidence submitted with our application to confirm that a sufficient number of employees in the proposed bargaining unit have signed valid membership cards.
-
The Board will contact WestJet to confirm the full list of employees in your group as of the date of application. This helps ensure everyone who should be included is accounted for.
-
Once the Board is satisfied with the membership support and employee count, it will issue a notice to the employer and the union—this includes the opportunity for either party to raise any objections or concerns regarding the proposed bargaining unit.
We’ll keep you updated every step of the way. For now, take a moment to celebrate this milestone. Your support and unity made this possible. Let’s keep building momentum toward a better future at work.
