We are so close to reaching the majority support needed for Unifor to file an application with the Canada Industrial Relations Board to represent Contact Centre workers. Every card signed moves us forward, and we need your help to get there. If you haven’t signed yet — now’s the time. And if you already have, please talk to a friend or coworker about the benefits of signing a Unifor card and joining this fight for fairness.

Why This Matters

  • Outsourcing: Onex/WestJet continues to cut back at the Canadian Contact Centre while TELUS International is hiring for airline support jobs in El Salvador. Unifor members at Air Canada stopped outsourcing and even brought jobs back to Canada.

  • Discipline & Job Security: More workers have faced discipline or termination without just cause since WestJet’s separation offers closed. A collective agreement means clear rules, just cause protections, and real recourse.

  • Representation: Contact Centre workers under CCEA and Campus TAPS employees alike deserve real representation, not symbolic gestures. CCEA and TAPS do not have the legal power to stop outsourcing or enforce protections. Unifor does.

  • Strength in Numbers: Unifor represents 320,000 workers, including 17,000 in aviation, 26,000 in telecommunications, and thousands more in ETOP sectors (Education, Technical, Office, Professional). That experience and strength is behind you.

  • Dues and Transparency: Dues are only 1.35% and 100% tax-deductible, with no dues until after a first collective agreement is ratified — meaning gains always come before costs. Unifor is the only Canadian union with an independent Public Review Board ensuring accountability.

What You Can Do Today

✔️ If you already have, ask one friend or coworker to do the same.
✔️ Join us at one of next week’s meetings — in-person or on Zoom — to get the facts and build momentum.
