As you begin this new chapter with Unifor, there is an immediate opportunity for WestJet Contact Centre employees to become involved in the important work of pay equity.

We are seeking expressions of interest from Contact Centre employees who would like to serve as a Unifor representative on the WestJet Pay Equity Committee.

What Is the Pay Equity Committee?

The Pay Equity Committee works to ensure that employees in predominantly female job classes receive equal pay for work of equal value, in accordance with the federal Pay Equity Act.

The committee's work includes reviewing job classifications, evaluating the value of work, comparing compensation, and contributing to the development of a pay equity plan.

This is important work that can have a meaningful impact on compensation and fairness in the workplace.

Representation Opportunities

Unifor Local is seeking interested Contact Centre employees for two positions:

  • One primary Pay Equity Committee representative

  • One alternate Pay Equity Committee representative

Representatives will participate in the committee's work, receive appropriate training, and work alongside other committee members throughout the pay equity process.

The role requires a commitment to reviewing information, participating in meetings, and representing the interests of Contact Centre employees.

Training and Upcoming Meetings

There is a required five-hour online training course that must be completed before participating in the committee's work.

Given these timelines, we need to identify interested employees as quickly as possible.

How to Express Your Interest

If you are interested in serving as either the primary or alternate representative, please send a brief email outlining your interest in the position and why you would like to participate.

Deadline: Friday, October 16, 2026, at 12:00 noon Mountain Time.

Please send your expression of interest to:

[email protected]

We recognize this is a short turnaround, but the upcoming meetings make it important to move quickly.

Moving Forward

Pay equity is an important part of ensuring fairness in the workplace, and we want Contact Centre employees to have meaningful representation as this work continues.

Thank you to everyone considering putting their name forward.
