It looks like voting for Air Passenger Protection Regulations Agents, Air Passenger Protection Regulations Specialists, and all employees in Guest Services in Contact Centre Operations employees will take place September 14 at 9:00 a.m. MT through September 18 at 9:00 a.m. MT.

How the vote will work

The vote will be conducted electronically through an independent third-party voting platform called Simply Voting, under the supervision of the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

You should receive two or three emails from the voting platform throughout the process:

Before voting begins: An initial email will be sent before the polls open. This allows the Board Officer to receive an advance report identifying email addresses that are incorrect or have bounced back. It also gives eligible voters an opportunity to have their email information corrected before voting begins.

When voting opens: You will receive another email containing your personal voting credentials and instructions on how to cast your ballot.

Before voting closes: Approximately 24 hours before the polls close, a final reminder will be sent to eligible voters who have not yet voted.

Please watch your email carefully throughout the voting period, including your junk or spam folder.

Who is eligible to vote?

The Canada Industrial Relations Board has determined the bargaining unit as:

All employees of WestJet, an Alberta Partnership, employed as Air Passenger Protection Regulations Agents and Air Passenger Protection Regulations Specialists and all employees in Guest Services in the Contact Centre Operations, excluding Business Travel Coordinators, the GSUP Coordinator, the CC Coordinator, Team Leads, those above the rank of Team Lead, Coordinators, administrative office employees and persons covered by an existing certification order.

The Board has also directed that employees eligible to cast a ballot are those who were employed in this bargaining unit as of December 18, 2025, and who remain employed in the bargaining unit on the day of the representation vote.

In simple terms, if you were part of the bargaining unit on December 18, 2025 and remain employed in the bargaining unit when the vote takes place, you are eligible to vote.

It is important to note that this voting group includes Air Passenger Protection Regulations Agents, Air Passenger Protection Regulations Specialists, and all employees in Guest Services in Contact Centre Operations. If your home position falls within one of these groups, you are included in the bargaining unit and eligible to vote, even if you are currently on leave or temporarily loaned or assigned to another position, provided you otherwise meet the Board’s eligibility requirements.

The outcome will be determined by a majority of the votes cast. We need every supporter to open their ballot and vote YES for Unifor.
