URGENT: Do Not Engage on Employer Systems – Stay Focused, Stay United
We know how frustrating it is to see management-supported anti union messaging making its way through company email and work channels. As tempting as it may be to respond, Unifor reminds all supporters that using WestJet systems (like company email or chat) to debate union matters could put you at risk of discipline.
That’s how the system works—they hold the power, and they make the rules about what’s “inappropriate” on their time and property.
We’ve Been Transparent All Along
Unifor has already shared the full collective agreement with every card signer. We are proud to be open about what’s in it and the reality of what’s possible when workers come together.
If you missed that message, you can read it here:
Why YEG Needs Enforceable Rights, Not Just Good Intentions
The Employer’s Game: Disinformation and Control
Let’s be clear: agents of WestJet management are pushing disinformation because they want to keep things exactly the way they are—where power stays with a few managers and their chosen favourites.
They pick out a few sections of the collective agreement and say, “You already get this.”
They say, “Your pay is the same.”
But they leave out the most important part.
You have no bargaining power.
They decide when to apply parts of the union agreement and when to ignore them.
Imagine What We Could Build Together
Instead of receiving pieces of someone else's agreement, imagine negotiating your own with everyone at the table, united. Imagine building a better wage scale, better scheduling rules, better protection.
That’s what a union gives you. Not just fairness, but the power to win more.
We’re close. Let’s keep moving forward smart, strategic, and united.
In solidarity,
